Standard Of Living: KDSG To Lift Human Capital Development Index – Acting Governor

Kaduna State government has mapped out plans to lift its human capital development index.

The State Acting Governor, Hadiza Balarabe, made this known at the State’s human capital development technical working group workshop at Sir Kashim House, in Kaduna. She added that the workshop was meant to increase the understanding of members of the State working group on its duties and working relations with thematic Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs.

Hadiza said for the State, addressing issues of human capital was simply investing in the people by building people’s capabilities through education, good health and nutrition, skills, economic empowerment, by lifting them out of unemployment and poverty.

The Acting Governor also identified inappropriate mobilisation of critical stakeholders to key into the objectives of the human capital development program as one of the challenges of the technical working group. According to her, the government alone cannot do it, calling on stakeholders and individuals to cue in, to achieve the target goals.

She urged the technical working group to develop strategies that would ensure more extensive participation of non-government actors in the Programmes.
