Peaceful Coexistence: No Violent Conflict Recorded In Kaduna State In 2021 - Commission

Kaduna State Peace Commission says there has been no violent conflict in major cities and conflict prone areas of the state in 2021.

Chairman of the commission Reverend Josiah Idowu Fearon who announced this during a press briefing, expressed joy that the efforts of the commission and its partners in de-escalating the drivers of violence in all parts of the state, were yielding result.

He noted that the major cities consist of Kaduna, Zaria and Kafanchan while the conflict prone areas were Sanga, Kajuru, Igabi and Chikun Local Government Areas.

Fearon however appealed to the media to help in publicising the activities of the commission, so that the people could report threats to peace, security and harmonious coexistence.

The chairman noted that currently efforts are ongoing to address the grievances driving the conflicts while initiatives to sustain peace and strengthen harmonious relations are being vigorously pursued.

He also appreciated the commission’s partners for their support in strengthening social harmony and peaceful coexistence in the state.
