Kaduna State Government is to partner groups and organisations in promoting the legal and social protection of women and girls against sex and gender based violence, SBGV.
Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice of Kaduna State, Sule Shuaibu, made this known, during a 1-day workshop organised by International Alert Nigeria in collaboration with Kaduna State Chapter of the International Federation of Women Lawyers, FiDA, on sensitization and addressing harmful cultural norms and practices that promote SBGV.
He assured of the state government’s support and assistance in fighting the menace, and commended the state chapter of FIDA for their resilience in the fight against SGBV.
In his remarks, Country Director of International Alert Nigeria, Paul Nyulaku, said the workshop would focus on addressing the rooted harmful cultural norms and practices that perpetuate SGBV in the State.
Also, FIDA Chairperson, Aisha Abdu Mohammed, charged the Kaduna State Government to do more, together with other relevant stakeholders in fighting the menace.
