The Nigeria Electricity System Operator report says electricity generation had dropped by 7 per cent to 3,284 megawatts from 3,526 megawatts, noting that it is inadequate for transmission and distribution to consumers, including households and organisations across the country.

Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN however explained that the Federal Government is making effort to deliver two units of 330 kilovolt power transmission substations in Katsina and Kano states.

Managing Director of the company Sule Abdulaziz assured that the agency would deliver two units of 330 kilovolt transmission substations in Katsina and Kano states along with the transmission lines in the next year to boost the power supply in the states.
