E-Learning: FG Establishes Stem Facilities In 218 Secondary Schools In 36 States — Minister

The Federal Government has established e-learning facilities in 218 secondary schools across the country to enhance learning of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, STEM.

Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Sadiya Umar-Farouq made this known while inaugurating the Northwest STEM project at GSS in Rano, Kano State.

Sadiya, who was represented at the occasion by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry Bashir Alkali, said the ministry had selected some Federal and State-owned Science/Technical Secondary Schools nationwide for the project.

The Minister explained that the project was aimed at providing e-learning facilities through the establishment of a state-of-the-art information and Communication Technology, ICT infrastructure at the secondary school level.

She noted that doing so would assist in developing students’ ICT skills and the use of internet for various purposees.

In his remarks, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State thanked Federal Government for creating the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, which initiated the National Social Investment Programme, N-SIP.
