The Arewa Joint Committee holding public interaction with presidential candidates has no plan to endorse any aspirant ahead of the 2023 general polls.
However, the groups have interacted with five presidential candidates on their agenda for the North and Nigeria as a whole, which includes; Bola Tinubu of APC, Peter Obi of Labour Party, Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, Kola Abiola of PRP and Adewole Adebayo of SDP.
Chairman, Steering Committee of the group Murtala Aliyu at a press conference in Kaduna, stated that their aim was to give voters in the Northern region the opportunity to evaluate each candidate based on their agenda.
He also added that it is not the duty of the group to accept or validate any candidate, noting that five of the six candidates earmarked to attend the session participated, and appreciated them for their positive response.
